Description

What is DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide)?

DSIP was named for what it did in rabbits. In humans the sleep evidence is inconsistent, and that is worth knowing before you buy it for sleep.

Also sold as delta sleep-inducing peptide or DSIP.

DSIP was isolated from the blood of rabbits in slow-wave sleep and named for that. It appears to act on several systems rather than one, and beyond sleep it has been studied for stress response and pain. The mechanism in humans is not well characterised, which is part of why the results have been inconsistent.

DSIP benefits

  • Reported improvements in sleep quality and time to fall asleep
  • Non-sedating, so no grogginess the following morning
  • No dependence, unlike conventional sleep medication
  • Also studied for stress response and pain
  • Not androgenic, so nothing is suppressed and no post-cycle therapy applies

DSIP dosage

Standard
100 to 300mcg
Timing
30 to 60 minutes before bed
Route
Subcutaneous
Frequency
As needed, not necessarily nightly
Course length
Commonly run for a few weeks
Per vial
5mg

100 to 300mcg before bed. It is not sedating, so it does not knock you out the way a sleeping tablet does, and people expecting that are usually disappointed.

Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water. The reconstitution guide covers the method and the dosage calculator works out how much water to add for the dose you want.

Who is DSIP for?

People who have tried the obvious sleep interventions and want to experiment with something that will not leave them groggy or dependent.

Read the evidence note below first. If sleep is a persistent problem, the things with the best evidence behind them are behavioural rather than pharmacological, and worth exhausting before spending money here.

Before you run it. The name is more confident than the evidence. DSIP was named for what it appeared to do in rabbits, and the human studies that followed have been inconsistent, with several failing to show reliable improvement in sleep. It is not a sedative and it does not induce sleep the way medication does. Plenty of users report it helps; the published record does not support that as firmly as the name implies. Side effects are essentially unreported. It is not androgenic, so nothing is suppressed and no post-cycle therapy applies. Reconstituted vials go in the fridge. Not for anyone under 18, and not for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

How to use DSIP

Reconstitute with bacteriostatic water and refrigerate once mixed. Inject subcutaneously 30 to 60 minutes before bed.

Frequently asked questions

Does it actually help you sleep?

The honest answer is that the evidence is mixed. It was isolated from sleeping rabbits and named accordingly, but human trials have been inconsistent and several found no reliable effect.

Many users report it helps, particularly with falling asleep rather than staying asleep. We would rather tell you where the evidence sits than repeat the name as though it settled the question.

Will it knock me out?

No. DSIP is not a sedative and does not work like a sleeping tablet. There is no drowsiness coming on twenty minutes after you take it.

That is why there is no grogginess the next day, and it is also why people expecting a sleeping pill are disappointed.

Is it addictive?

No dependence or withdrawal has been reported, which is one of the genuine points in its favour over conventional sleep medication.

That is based on limited evidence rather than long experience, but nothing suggests a dependence risk.

Can I take it with growth hormone peptides?

Yes, and it is a common pairing since both are dosed before bed and both are aimed at sleep and recovery.

There is no interaction to worry about. The growth hormone peptides need an empty stomach; DSIP does not care.

Does it need PCT?

No. DSIP is not androgenic and does not affect testosterone.

There is nothing for a SERM to do.
