What is PROVIMED 25 (Mesterolone)?

PROVIMED 25 is Proviron, the support compound that makes the rest of a cycle work harder rather than adding anything of its own.

Also sold as Proviron, Provironum or mesterolone.

Mesterolone is a DHT derivative that cannot aromatise and, unusually for an oral, is not 17-alpha-alkylated. It binds strongly to SHBG, the protein that holds testosterone in an inactive state, which frees up more of whatever testosterone is already in your system. Who is PROVIMED 25 for?

People already running a cycle who want more out of the testosterone in it, a firmer look, and libido maintained through a run built on 19-nors.

It is the wrong purchase for anyone expecting to gain size from it. Astera Labs sells 50mg tablets, which suit the higher end of the range.

Before you run it. Mesterolone will not build muscle. It is a very weak anabolic and anyone buying it expecting size will be disappointed. What it does is free up testosterone you already have and firm up the look, which is a support role rather than a headline one. It is not 17-alpha-alkylated, so it is not hepatotoxic the way the other orals here are, but it is not harmless either: it is strongly androgenic, so hair loss and acne are live risks if you are predisposed, and it does suppress your own production at higher doses, contrary to what is often claimed. Not for anyone under 18, and not for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Will mesterolone build muscle?

No, and this is the most common misunderstanding about it. Mesterolone is a very weak anabolic and running it alone produces almost nothing in the way of size.

What it does is bind SHBG, which raises the free portion of the testosterone already in your system. That makes the rest of a cycle work harder. On its own there is very little for it to free up.

Is it liver toxic?

No, and it is one of the few orals here where that is true. Mesterolone is 1-methylated rather than 17-alpha-alkylated, so it survives digestion without the modification that stresses the liver.

That is why it can be run for longer than the four to eight weeks that limit the alkylated orals. It is not a free pass on everything else, but the liver is genuinely not the constraint here.

Can it replace an aromatase inhibitor?

Not reliably. Mesterolone does compete with the aromatase enzyme and mildly reduces conversion, so it takes some edge off the estrogen load.

It is not strong enough to control estrogen on a heavy aromatising cycle. Treat it as a small help alongside a proper aromatase inhibitor, not a substitute for one.

Does it suppress natural testosterone?

At higher doses, yes, which contradicts the common claim that it does not. 25mg a day has little effect for most people, but 100mg a day is suppressive.

It is not the compound most likely to shut you down, but it is not exempt either. If you are running it alone at a high dose, expect some suppression.

Why do people run it on cycle?

Two reasons. The SHBG binding raises free testosterone, so the rest of the cycle works harder for the same dose. And it firms up the look, since it is a DHT derivative with no water attached to it.

Libido is the third reason, particularly on cycles built around 19-nors, which are notorious for blunting it.
